WHO AIMS survey starts
Sunday, April 22, 2012 at 10:05PM
The Ministry of Health is supporting a survey to assess our mental health systems using a method developed by The World Health Organization, known as WHO-AIMS.
This will provide baseline planning information and also elicit deficiencies in the mental health delivery in Ghana, enabling us to develop services that will be appropriate for our position as a middle income country. It will also guide us in the implementation of the Mental Health Act.
This survey will be undertaken by the Kintampo College of Health, the Ministry of Health and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust of Hampshire, UK (The Kintampo Project) as partners.
The results of the survey will be ready by February 2013.
I kindly ask that you cooperate with the survey teams as they come to you for the necessary information and to invite you to meetings.
Chief Director, Ministry of Health
