Introducing The Kintampo Trust, our new charity

Logo of The Kintampo TrustWe're excited to announce that we have now become part of a newly-founded independent charity - The Kintampo Trust.
With the help of Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, our UK partner, we have set up this charity to support the Kintampo Project and its aims.
The Trust will allow us to really focus our fundraising on Africa (and Ghana in particular), whilst still supporting the development of NHS staff involved.
Dr Mark Roberts, the Project Lead in the UK, explains why we're so pleased:
Dr Mark Roberts
"It’s a big deal because it means we’ll be able to do so much more. It’s been great to start under the wing of Southern Health but now we are growing and we can venture out and truly spread our own wings. We will still be connected to Southern Health - for UK members it is our home - but the creation of the Kintampo Trust will mean we can be more independent and responsive whilst still working from the secure base of the NHS.
"We will able to raise funds, plan and work more quickly and responsively than before and our volunteers will learn even more new skills - really enhancing the leadership development our project provides. This is new to us but it’s generated a new enthusiasm on top of what was already a really positive and brilliant team. It enables us to go from strength to strength, it brings a new sense of responsibility to all of us and it’s something we’re really proud of."
Watch this space for some exciting developments, including online donation and our new fundraising guilds - coming soon.
