November 2011 - our latest team of UK NHS Educators have left for Ghana

Teaching of teachers is key for long term sustainability so May 2011 saw two UK NHS Clinician Educator teams visit Ghana to support developing Ghanaian Preceptors.

The next team; Mr Paul Harvey, Advanced Mental health Practitioner, Dr Moira Ledger, Consultant Psychiatrist and Mr Sam Afari Community Practitioner will focus on new geographic areas in this ambitious but highly successful whole country mental health workforce scale up.

The May 2011 teams spent 3 weeks in Accra, Kintampo, Ankaful Hospital in Cape Coast and the Tafo, Community Psychiatric Nurse clinic in Kumasi.

Preceptors were helped to identify community based learning experiences for Kintampo Project mental health students (MAP and CMHO).
